It’s defining character is the jute-fibre rope braided at the edges of the shoe. It originates in Pyrenees and once was peasant footwear. However, it evolved through the years growing in popularity that could easily worn by men or women.

Summer is characteristically hot so it won’t be surprising if you sweat a lot. And that’s why espadrilles are just perfect. Compared to flip flops and sneakers, espadrilles are breathable and comfortable, so you won’t have to worry much about having sticky and sweaty feet. And despite being ultimately casual, you can wear it from the streets, family and friends BBQ gatherings to even late-night beach parties.
How to choose espadrilles
These shoes still carry a bit of stigma that it is solely a woman’s footwear. Wash away those connotation by keeping it as masculine as possible. Stay away from shades of pink and violet and choose the darker or neutral tones like black or navy. You can also opt for patterns that go with your attire and suit your need – and feet – just fine.
