Be a tie expert!

Tying a tie is not easy to some people, particularly men. Although neckties look so simple, tying it perfectly needs to be done correctly.

To make life easier, here are the tying hacks that will change every man’s life.

1. Four in Hand

Lay the tie around your neck.
The wide (W) end of the tie should be extending 12 inches below the narrow end.
Cross the wide end over the narrow end.
Turn the wide end back underneath the narrow end
Cross back over the front of the narrow end and bring the wide end up behind the back of the loop.
Pull the wide end down through front knot, the fix any wrinkles, folds and twists before tightening the knot.

2. Windsor

Back to basic, lay the tie around your neck.
The wide end should be 18” lower than the narrow end.
Cross the wide over the narrow
Cross the wide up through the back of the narrow loop, then pull the wide to the right
Back up the wide end behind the knot and pull to the left.
Bring back wide end up in the front of the loop, then drop down to the back of the loop.
Pull the wide to the right, then cross it over the narrow end.
Pull the wide end down and pass it through the loop in order to form the knot.
Windsor should be looked like this:

3. Nicky

Basic instruction, lay down the tie around the neck.
Make sure that the wide end is 18” below the narrow end.
For this type of tie, narrow end will be crossed over front of the wide end.
Bring up the wide end over top of the narrow end.
Pull the wide end down, it should be behind the loop.
Cross the wide over the front of the knot
Up the wide end behind the back of the narrow end.
Pull the wide end down through the loop to form a knot.
