Mustache/beard adds appeal to a man – no question about that. How a man grooms his facial hair is an extension of his personality. It’s a form of nonverbal expression that speaks the wearer’s character.
Gone are the days where only the bad boys of movies are the ones who can don these fine face bristles. Move over because even your everyday Joe-on-the street can strut the mustache/beard ensemble with sorts of different trims and style.
Not Just Your Ordinary Hairstyle
Who would have thought that even mustache can be styled in different cuts? Below some of the popular styles men can try to put fashion on those bushy strands.
Chevron: Thick and big that covers the top lip.
Dali: Inspired by the Spanish painter Salvador Dali. Thin strands are curly waxed upward.
English: Thin mustache that has partition in the middle and whiskers centered below the bottom lip.
Handle Bar: Ends are long enough to be curved up and usually styled with wax.
Horseshoe: U-shaped, also called biker mustache. A full mustache with vertical extensions grown on the corners of the lips and down the sides of the mouth to the jawline, resembling an upside-down horseshoe. The whiskers grown along the sides of the mouth in the horseshoe are sometimes referred to as pipes.
Imperial: Large, lip-cheek combination kind of mustache that’s styled upward.
Lampshade: Thick on the upper lip, ends in downward slope. Shape resembles that of lampshade’s shape.
Paintbrush: Cropped and neat, this style only cover’s the width of the mouth but does not extend beyond it. The edges are rounded on the side of the lip
Pyramidal: Resembling to how a pyramid looks like, narrow on top while wide at the bottom.
Toothbrush: Inch-wide in size placed in the center upper lip.
Walrus: A very long bushy mustache that covers the entire mouth.
