There’s nothing better in catching a girl’s attention than dressing clean and smart. Sure we, girls, also fall to trap of rocker of biker type looking men.(Because, yes, we admit that once in a while we have that what we call “the bad boy phase.”) Yet, at the end of the day, a man in a suit is what most of us are looking for – there are few exceptions, but that’s for another topic.
However, it’s summer and it’s time for jeans and tee, or shorts and tee. It also means “snooze time,” where being lazy is excused once in a while. And well, dressing up can be such a drag, not to mention wearing suit all the time is just not appropriate. Fret not dear gents, dressing smart has a simple formula that will not impede your summer good time. All you need is just the right blazer jacket.
Choosing the Fabric
Getting to know the fabric of your blazer jacket is essential. There are different types of fabric out there and not all are suited for summer. We need something light and cool and your tweed or wool blazer jacket won’t cut it.
They are heavy and warm; better suited for cold months. Linen on the other hand passed our criteria. However, you need to be a little mindful, as it can get easily wrinkled and the stains will show once you choose a light-colored fabric.
Colors and Patterns
We’re talking about summer, so it’s for patterns and colors. Just be mindful on what goes on what. Your blazer jacket and jeans should not be too match-y. You can choose either of the two: your blazer jacket is lighter than your jeans, or it can be your jeans that is lighter.
However, blazer jackets are already inherently dressy. If you’re not n expert in matching colors, keep it simple. Start with the classic navy, and then you can progress from that. It is also the same for patterns. Check or stripe patterns are the classic boost to a preppy look. You don’t want to overdo it unless you possess the swagger to pull off a bold outfit.
Types of Blazer Jackets
You can’t just separate the jacket from your work suit, especially if we’re talking about a double-breasted suit. It will look out of place with your casual outfit. Invest on a casual blazer that is not as crisp and sharp as your working one.
The shoulder should be soft and natural, while the waist should be modestly tapered. We already established that double-breasted is a big NO. Single breasted with two-button or one-button construction will be more appropriate. Since you’re most likely to leave them unbuttoned, choose the right fit for you. It should not flap and shorter on the body.
End note…
Dressing smartly should always be given proper notice. Apart from impressing a girl or going out in style, a man who cleans himself will be able to present himself confidently whenever and wherever. Fortunately, blazer jackets are versatile and dressy enough to help us pull through at different occasions.
