While Duckie Brown’s collections are innovative and thoughtful and we love the full-on, with breaks of black, white on white suits by Tommy Hilfiger, not to mention the other innovative styles from New York’s Fashion Week Men, we are doubtful if it will translate well in real life.
They are groundbreaking in the fashion industry, but would it be the same when you wear it in the office? Or would you rather have the ground open up and swallow before you wear them?
Despite the increase awareness and dedication to men’s fashion, a high percentage of the population is yet to embrace what the runway has shown us and that is justified. However, here are the looks of the four-day event which will not make you a source of good laugh in the office once you wear them.
Fortunately, Polo Ralph Lauren gave us a variety to choose from. You have the casual, camp-ready attires as well as the fall-ready casuals. And of course, the label did away with the black label offering us the classic office wears in neutrals with accents of colors and the dapper gentleman ready for a night on a yacht.
We remember to look from Todd Snyder’s past menswear collection, yet we could not deny that it still holds a place for any common Joe who wants to step up their game. This piece is neat and summer ready. (Just be careful not to sit anywhere.)
Another one from Todd Snyder. This one fits the laid-back look for anyone who wants to dress up a little bit, but don’t want to come across as trying.
Michael Kors did only a bit of tweaking with this ready-on-a-trip-outfit, yet it is undeniable that the designer put together another great outfit.
This outfit from Michael Bastian Collection is perfect for Fridays. From the office to casual affairs, it is ready to take you anywhere.
You will not get intimidated by this Zachary Prell put-together outfit. The slacks blend well with the tee and the jacket making it an inviting piece.
Thom Browne also presented a small collection for the men’s fashion week. While monotonous and drab in gray and straight silhouettes, the details won the crowd over, which is what he is aiming for.
