Relive the 90’s with these 2015 trends

90s Comeback

There are a number of reasons why reliving the 90’s trend will strike us in horror. The unhygienic grunge-inspired hair that only looks cool on Kurt Cobain, the full-on crimped hairstyle in which we don’t know whether to salute Tyra Banks in, and the puffy bangs, bright scrunchies and big hats with flowers on top of it are only some why the mention of the 90s fashion will have us bursting in laughter. Those are certainly not the best moments. While a good laugh, they are better left alone dusting in the antic.

Still, with all the ridiculous moments of the 90’s, there are a number of trends inspired by this decade that are surfacing on and off the red carpets and runway shows – and you’d be glad to hear there is nothing ridiculous with these comebacks.

Denim

Denim has spread far and wide this 2015. Not only it is exclusive for a jacket, but in different types of clothes as well. From the classic straight silhouetted denim skirts to high-waisted acid washed short shorts for the summer and button down, you will see this trend anywhere.

Leather Jackets

If then the leather jacket is mostly in black, the 2015 version ranges in color. From brooding, sexy, and daring, you can make the look more approachable by choosing lighter colored moto jackets.

Flannels

Flannels are one of the redeeming styles 90’s fashion has brought us. Flannels are fun to dress up with for girls. They can provide cover up for dresses or on an ensemble of crop top and shorts while providing and edgy look.

Blown-Out Hair

Hair is in two ways big in the 90’s; one, there are a lot of hairstyles, which resurfaced during the decade; and two, the hair is blown out and volumized as much as possible. Reliving the 90’s hair does not mean you have to get the puffy bangs. It means achieving the on the day-off model hair look. Instead of lots of hairspray and back combing, a simple moisturizer and run of the finger will do the trick. Look for Kate Bossworth’s deep comb-over hairstyle for inspiration.

Glitters

90’s sweethearts in the name of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera to name some can be seen wearing sparkling eye shadow during that time. The rule? The Larger the flecks, the better. However, the 2015 version is more refined. It only extends to the lids (until the eyebrows would be a step too far) and has finer flecks to keep them from hurting your eyes. It also transforms a girl make up to a sophisticated, polished woman.
