The successful partnership between Adidas and RAF Simons lives on as the infamous Stan Smith gets redefinition that is going to be publicly available in early 2016. It’s the meet up between the bold and the timeless classic. Look at the iconic tennis kicks in a whole new level as it would set a different tone in silver and metallic finish.
If we thought this year’s pastel makeover for Stan Smith is just super, think again as the boundaries were once again pushed a step further with this adventurous brain child by one of an Adidas’ favorite collaborator Raf Simons.
Originally intended as a tennis shoes back on the late 1960’s, this all-time favorite was named after a legendary tennis player Stan Smith. What made these shoes, unique is the design itself.
Contrary to the conventional Adidas shoes that wears the signature three stripes, this version on the other hand came with small dotted holes in three rays found on each side. Adidas itself made a one of a kind innovation that time since it happened to be the first company to introduce leather material be used in tennis courts.
The original design has experienced several remakes as the time progressed. Just recently, we saw the re-launch in bright colors that definitely became a sure fire favorite since the opening of this year. This imaginative concept had materialized through the company’s partnership with an equally respected personality Raf Simons.
The Belgian fashion designer is definitely an old-timer and an authority when it comes to determining what the next big thing is going to be. Past collaboration also includes Fred Perry and Linda Farrow.
An A-lister himself, Simons was also Jil Sander’s Creative Director, one of the brands under Prada Group back in 2005. Years after, he was announced as Dior’s creative director that follows, the term of an equally respected Bill Gaytten.
