A choker is a close-fitting accessory worn on the neck. Chokers can be made of a variety of materials, like velvet, plastic, beads, and also metals such as silver, gold or platinum, leathers and etc.
They can be decorated in a variety of ways, including and adding with sequins, studs, or even a pendant.
The common types of chokers are the Victorian, vintage, open collar Gothic, pendant, gemstones, or just a simple plastic like tattoo chokers.
Historically chokers were associated with high fashion, but could take on different meanings under different conditions and situations.
For example, a plain red choker around your neck means you are a prostitute in a certain Era, while a plain black woven choker or ribbon could signify a secret lesbianism that was a trend arose in the Great Depression Era.
Chokers appeared in the year 1798 as a French cultural jewel that was worn by wealthy ladies.
