While fashion weeks, new campaigns, and launching of new and additional lines that may or may not be the next big thing is a big deal in the fashion industry and its growing community of fashionistos and fashionistas, it is only rare we get to see the focus of the fashionable crowd directed somewhere else apart from the designers, their corresponding houses, and their collection of years.
Recent events in the fashion world, the snapping of cameras and the formation of teenage crowds outside the venue of fashion shows is focused on a different subject. No, they are not there to admire the silhouettes and current trending style (although, this may come as a bonus).
The cause of hysteria was instead for the wearer of the collections presented a little while ago. Yes, the fans are there to admire the model instead, particularly the one with the name of Lucky Blue Smith.
The growing popularity of female models is quite common, starting with Kate Moss to the most recent batch of model cohorts, which includes Cara DeLevigne, Gigi Hadid, and Jourdan Dunn to name a few. But that is not the case for male models, which is why Lucky Blue Smith is truly lucky.
Smith is of Mormon decent and already successful at the age of 17. The 6ft 3inch model started his career when he officially signed to Next Models agency at the age of twelve. Even though he’s already in the industry for quite some time, it was only last year did big breaks come his way.
Moschino, Fendi, and Calvin Klein offered spots for Smith indicating that his career is starting to gain momentum. And it seems it has no intention of stopping with Smith unveiled to be the male face of Tom Ford.
However, it isn’t through luck did the model achieve the success he’s currently experiencing. Smith worked hard and that includes increasing the popularity of his online image through fans meet ups and online interaction. And the good thing is he enjoys being with his fans, too, and feels grateful to them.
“…I don’t really get why they seem to like me so much, but if I can make them feel happy by sticking around and that makes their day better, then what’s an extra 30 minutes to me? What else am I going to be doing?” Smith said.
Currently, Smith has 1.1 million followers on Instagram surpassing even the famous and highest-earning male models like Sean O’Pry and David Gandy with around 400,000 followers both.
