Whether you are one of the two or you are a part of one and a part of the other, cuffing your jeans can add a much needed edge for a basic closet staple.

With our jeans cuffed, it adds a style that could be done with nothing but few minutes. You don’t have to worry again, leaving your house feeling undressed and lacking even a bit of style to spice up your get up.

Especially when in a hurry, you don’t have wear a permanent frown on your face thinking the blaze did not go quite what you’d like with your tops and jeans. A simple white button down blouse with your light-washed cuffed jeans and right shoes can easily be seen as a casual and edgy outfit.

While cuffing is very simple, learning what cuff is for what jeans can determine the score of your total style. With a variety of jeans, there is always a perfect match for each one.

Since we’ve learned about skinny jeans, it has become the most popular type of jeans, which has taken a home in our wardrobe. For cuffing skinnies, it is important to know the cuffs to be thin. First, fold the jeans half an inch, then fold it again, creating a double half an inch cuff. Do this on the other leg and make sure they are symmetrical.

Another way is to cuff your skinnies inside, especially if you want your jeans to be shorter. To do it, cuff it to the length you want to cut off from your jeans, then cuff it gain only the direction is inside, which makes the cuff invisible. This cuff is called under cuff, since its purpose is shortening the length of the jeans and does not have to be seen.

For wide-leg jeans, the best cuff is the wide cuff which is thicker compared on the cuffs of your skinnies. When folding your jeans, make the cuffs, two-inch in length. Then fold it again at two-inch, creating a thicker and wider cuff. Just like in skinnies, the cuffs should be symmetrical from the other.

Other less popular, but as stylish – if not more – way of cuffing are the barrel roll kind of cuff, half-tuck cuff and a slouchy cuff also known as an off-duty cuff.

For the rolled cuff or barrel roll, you need to fold one inch of your jeans first. Next is to roll up another one inch and then put your finger between your denim and the rolled seams to create a shape of a cylinder. This type of cuff is better suits for boyfriend jeans.

The half-tuck cuff on the other hand can both work for skinnies and boyfriend jeans as long as they are long enough to reach the top of the ankles even when cuffed. To do this, fold your jeans in one and half an inch. After folding, you choose, which side you will fold again. On either left or right, fold the jeans another one and half an inch intendedly leaving the other side single-cuffed.

The last one is a slouch cuff or off-duty cuff due to its meant messy appearance models seems to love these days, especially when they’re off the runways or off the camera.

To create this cuff, fold your jeans three and half an inch, then get the seams, and pull it away in order to bunch the jeans. After making a crease, fold the hem in your direction.

With these easy steps, you’ll have no problem taking up your sartorial principles a notch higher.

On the last note, be sure to pick the right shoes as cuffed jeans, pull the attention towards your feet.
