It seems that May has lined up events after events prestigious enough to include A-lister stars and notable names to give us different red carpet shows.
Le Festival International du Film de Cannes or more popularly known as the Cannes International Film Festival is a prestigious annual event held in Cannes, France dedicated to new films of different genres across the world. Founded in 1946, the film has since then gained notoriety in the public attended by different high-profile personalities.
The 68th annual festival kicked off last 13th of May with a glitzy opening act provided by the show-stopping red carpet gowns and dresses worn by different personalities. The event, aside from featuring remarkable films, is here to also deliver us red carpet eye-candies. Here’s a taste of what has been ruling floor since it’s kicked off in 13th.
Floor sweeping gowns has been the staple for every red carpet events, but it does not necessarily mean we’re tired of it. Actually, with some of these best dresses that graced the still running event, our love for these gowns is sure not to fade any time soon.
One of the jury for the event takes center stage, Sienna Miller, as she walked the red carpet with in a navy blue one shoulder Lanvin gown, and was later joined by Julianne Moore in a black embellished Armani Prive dress.
Natalie Portman did not disappoint as she steals the spotlight with a stripped back look in a red strapless dress courtesy of Dior. Another flashing of lights was triggered as troupes of supermodels entered the scene in their glamorous gowns: Karlie Kloss and Doutzen Kroes decked out in Atelier Versace accompanied by Liya Kebede in Louis Vuitton.
It does not end there. We are afforded with another wow moments with stars showing in their little black dresses.
It seems some stars want to deviate from the staple floor-length gowns when they don black, jazzy little dresses. But make no mistake! The chopped off lengths did not decrease in any way the brimming glamour these actress are going for. Take Charlize Theron who appeared in day two of the festival decked in Valentino black dress swapping the body-con for fringing outfit.
She certainly stands in the crowd with this simple yet jazzy leather outfit at the same time. Another notable dress was Emma Stone’s who opted for a backless black lacy Oscar de la Renta dress that sits in mid-thigh and a nipped-in waist.
The red carpet show is already brimming with remarkable gowns and we still have days to go. What more glamorous doses they could offer? We’ll see at the end of the festival.
