Modeling and Lotsa Money, Bundchen and Delevingne

Bundchen and Delevingne (1)

The world of fashion is dotted with the most noticeable bodies, all well-sculpted to fit that flimsy-looking dress made by an illustrious designer. We have seen them strut it enthusiastically on catwalks, with all their too-good-to-be-true faces and practiced poses.

The industry won’t be complete without the aid of supermodels putting that garbage-looking avant-garde dress into proper perspective, and we must all admit that when a graceful woman rocks it in a fashion show, we would all be convinced to buy. The magic that models possess is quite difficult to explain and we all just stare at them in awe while they’re plastered all over the metropolis on monstrous billboards and print ads.

So the question, “how much does a supermodel make out of this job,” would pop into our heads, and we would also answer it with a fervent “too much.” Yes, the modeling industry has been so generous to the ones keeping it alive, and while envy gets the best out of us, let’s dig deeper on who’s the richest of them all by reading this post.

Forbes Magazine is known for putting up lists of people who are the richest in their respective fields. Yearly, they sum up all the assets and deduct all the liabilities that a person, a company or a corporation has and feed it to their waiting readers.

Ironically, millions of people have repeatedly wanted to know who topped the list, as if it would make them affluent, too. Below are models who have earned the most as far as their career is concerned, and for quite some time now, it’s Gisele Bundchen who is still on the ‘richest supermodel’ pedestal.

Just for 2015, the feisty Gisele Bundchen successfully surpassed thousands of younger models as she managed to earn a whopping amount of $44 million from all of her modeling ventures. Though it is slightly smaller than the mark she reached the year before, this definitely won’t discount the fact that this supermodel works quite diligently. Only the most luxurious fashion brands have made it through Bundchen’s endless roll of endorsements including famous names like Chanel, Carolina Herrera, Balenciaga and Emilio Pucci.

This native Brazilian certainly took our breath away countless times when we saw her strut the most famous fashion catwalks. Her luster never faded over the years. Also, her business ventures, such as designing jelly shoes for Grendene and her personal lingerie line entitled Gisele Bundchen Intimates, added more to her ballooning monetary assets.

Next in line would be Cara Delevingne, who has seen better days from last year’s modeling journey. Delevingne’s prolific nature of appearing in almost all the famous brands certainly helped her in accumulating the cash she has in the bank. In total, Cara managed to close a total of $9 million in her advertisements and brand campaigns, which involved 13 different fashion brands.

The brands that availed of Delevingne’s modeling services include Burberry, DKNY, Topshop and Yves Saint-Laurent.

We can also remember that we’ve seen her performing differently, this time as an actress, in some huge Hollywood productions like Paper Towns, a short stint in Anna Karenina and Pan.
She’s also expected to appear in upcoming movies such as London Fields and Suicide Squad.

The League of Extraordinary Men Donning Short Shorts

Men Donning Short Shorts (1)

Nowadays, it isn’t a surprise for men to embrace the trends that fashion offers. When a fashion craze circulates, it is definite that both men and women would have their own versions.

Experts and fashionistas alike have dived into the possibility that men should also be styled and dressed well, hence the prevalence of men on runway shows and the emergence of fashion outfits that only men can successfully carry-out.

Fashionable guys are on the move in giving the usual shorts a bit of a twist by making them shorter than usual.

There have been a lot of exposures through the social media and fashion lines that carried-out the trend of ‘short shorts’ for men, and surprisingly, men don’t just love it, they mean to continue the trend for as long as it takes.

Men Donning Short Shorts (2)

The short shorts look for men shows an ensemble that will look more laidback and casual without compromising the sharpness that an average Joe should exude.

This trend has been going on for a few months and it never disappoints as we witness those who wear this to look more modern, polished and fashionable.

Once an outfit only worn by women and their attractive legs, men are now embracing the short shorts fad and are creatively twisting it to look more androgynous.

Men Donning Short Shorts (3)

One tip that a guy should bear in mind is that these shorts must fit perfectly. Longer cuts must be picked by those who have long and skinny legs, while short and muscular men can go for a relaxing fit above the knee.

Short shorts must also have the right balance of tightness and length. Ideally, short shorts border on being above the kneecap and below half of your thighs.

In styling, a guy must also consider the color of his skin to pick the right tone or hue. If you are on the tanned or darker side, get the white, black and flesh colored ones while those who have a lighter skin tone must lean on brighter colors such as yellow, orange, green and blue.

If you wear solid-hued shorts, the trick is to everyone to look at your top by donning a loud and vibrant printed shirt or polo. On the other hand, if you want to wear shorts with prints, then do the opposite and get something solid and bold on your top to avoid chaotic designs.

Men Donning Short Shorts (4)

Pulling off the short shorts ensemble requires simplicity on the guy’s end. If you’re not confident in wearing this garment, then don’t risk it.

Shoes must always be picked not only for the overall look of your outfit but also for the level of comfort it would bring. Be keen in experimenting with textures and contrasting colors to make the resulting ensemble more interesting and fashionable.

Go out of your comfort zone and try using your short shorts with a formal suit, flannel plaids, polos layered with long-sleeved fleece and plain white shirts covered with a bomber leather jacket.

Let’s start the list of some of her most fabulous looks by revisiting her 2015 ensemble during the China State Dinner at the White House.

The ever classy first lady wore a black V-Neck Vera Wang gown with her hair swept to the side. This can seem a bit adventurous for Mrs. Obama as there’s a hint of hip mermaid frills at the hem. Still, she rocked the dress with total grace.

The first lady is best at rocking her elegantly designed dresses. From roaming around for state visits, lightning ceremonies and television appearances, Michelle Obama has been consistent in epitomizing a powerful woman with good taste and substantial personality.

Oscar de la Renta Resort 2016 collection stays true to its signature aesthetic

Oscar de la Renta Resort 2016 (1)

He may have been around for just a couple of months, but Peter Copping made it clear that he understands the core style Oscar de la Renta exudes as it is very evident from his 2016 Resort collection assembled for the said fashion house. Clearly, the resort collection for this year is a testament that the current creative director did his homework by showing the brand’s essence in style.

The great Oscar de la Renta himself handed Copping the responsibility of the brand’s design direction before his passing. The Oxford-raised fashion executive released his first collection back in fall of 2015 and his reign continued since then.

See embroidered evening dresses that embody intricate detail and femininity, much like de la Renta, so to speak. Let us not forget the florals, laced creations and applique patches as they too complete the actual de la Renta style.

The recent collection is a total blow-out as each piece is attractive to modern and fashionable women. See a bunch of suit skirts that can go from regular to formal settings.

Bright colors also have their piece of the spotlight as the collection is generously adorned by marigold and hibiscus. Traditionalists might think twice when it comes to being adventurous, but the dresses will make the wearer exude class and elegance.

Talk about the flawless fit of midi-dresses styled with alluring hues and flowery prints.

More than anything, the brand garnered its prominent stance in its evening wear.

Continuing the tradition of delivering crisp styling that A-listers swear by, the 2016 resort collection also has its pieces of taffeta gowns that are a cult favorite among de la Renta loyalists.

Kristen Stewart is the latest muse for Chanel makeup

Kristen Stewart (1)

Chanel has been Bella-fied as the prestigious company announced the arrival of one of the most famous stars on the red carpet as the new face of their eye makeup set to be released in March.

The beautiful American actress Kristen Stewart is to be the brand’s face representing their latest campaign in 2016.

Kristen Stewart (2)

Her eyes are brooding, like a secret that hints to reveal itself to anyone looking. She may be known as someone who always has a poker face on the red carpet and other media appearances, but there is no denying that this actress has a certain aura fully exuding what many would notice.

This characteristic is one of the reasons why Chanel picked her to be the person on their ads for their eye makeup. She, along with other great beauties like supermodel Gisele Bundchen and Kiera Knightley will grace covers and billboards in the coming months once the campaign is finally launched.

“CHANEL is pleased to announce that American actress Kristen Stewart is the new face of its 2016 EYES COLLECTION campaign, photographed by Mario Testino and scheduled to break in March 2016,” from the press release last February 2 by the fashion brand itself. The actress is no rookie when it comes to working with one of the world’s best fashion labels. As a matter of fact, she has always been present in their fashion shows. She even appeared on a short film titled ‘Once and forever’ that the legendary Karl Lagerfield directed himself.

The long standing relationship between Stewart and Chanel can be traced back a few years when she appeared in their 2013 Paris-Dallas Métiers d’art collection. The rest is history as she has been seen in Chanel’s important gatherings since then.

2016 Oscars gave us real deal red carpet moments

Just before the awards are given and the speeches are uttered, let us not forget another important part of any award giving bodies. The fore chunk of any important awards night that’s as major as the program itself – the red carpet.

We get it, the hangover of DiCaprio’s first win of the best actor award is something that will not disappear any time soon and we can understand why. And as the long wait finally reached its lingering end, let us stop for a while and take time reviewing some of this year’s best acts when it comes to dressing the Oscars way.

We know how tedious the preparation for an awards night can be. These good looking stars, especially their glam team do not just wake up the very same day and work in magic.

Thanks to The Rachel Zoe Project show, we have come to appreciate that the planning stage of how our fave stars would look like takes longer than of the awards nights itself. Now let us start the countdown of who nailed it and made it big during the red carpet.

Lady Gaga. This whole reimaging is working pretty well for this performer. Enough with the eclectic fashion statement as Mother Monster arrived at this year’s Oscar flawlessly muted and regal.

This Brandon Maxwell creation can even replace Gaga’s controversial meat dress back in 2010.

This is something that we can look back years from now and still get the same impression of timelessness and class.

2016 fashion oscar (1)

Cate Blanchett. This red carpet royalty is always, always on point when it comes to providing red carpet moment.

Can this woman ever go wrong? Ageless and classy, Blanchett is a breath of fresh air from all the muted and somewhat predictable gowns we have seen in the majority.

This textured Armani Privé dress is definitely a show stopper as it is feminine and chic.

2016 fashion oscar (2)

Charlize Theron. Thank you so much for wearing red. Miss Theron is another best dressed royalty that never disappoints.

In a sea of emeralds, pastels and metallics, her deep neck Dior gown is trendy and timeless all at the same time.

This queen right here once again schools us how to style in an effortless yet an exquisite way.

Brie Larson. She didn’t only win the best actress award, but she also made a considerably good fight on making it to every best dressed lists out there.

This Room lead star may have created a buzz as she was able to get all the best actress trophies on major award giving bodies including SAGA Awards, Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards but her styling is also undeniably on point and fitting for a true Hollywood winner.

Saoirse Ronan. Another contender for the best actress award, this used to be a child star arrived at the red carpet looking all glammed up with her sparkling emerald gown dress that demanded a second look from everybody.

This gown from the Calvin Klein collection was not only beautiful in front as it also gave some serious back detail that’s sexy in a tasteful way.

Rooney Mara. Another interesting presence on the red carpet who gave us some sleek and neat look that ladies should learn to master whenever they attend an important event.

What’s more interesting about this Givenchy Haute Couture dress is the fact that there are several detailing going on but each perfectly complemented one other creating a very polished look.

The sleek bun is another winner itself. This allowed the eyes to focus on the beautiful face of the wearer and the dress itself.

Priyanka Chopra. The naked dress trend may have been fading its prime but this Quantico cast in Zuhair Murad is a look of perfection in each and every inch.

There is a thin line to looking bridal whenever someone would the take risk of wearing white during the red carpet, but Chopra’s look definitely veered away from the feared fashion miss and arrived with so much allure and elegance.

With a beautiful face, rocking body and a Zuhair Murad creation, how can you ever go wrong?

Reem Acra’s 2016 RTW takes you to his beginnings

Model on the catwalk

The designer that brings royalty back to life through the dreamy gowns she creates has returned, but this time leaning on a more laid-back direction as she launches her 2016 ‘Ready to Wear’ collection.

It will not be Reem Acra without the flares and the beadings. The intricacy of craftsmanship and the modern take on classic designs are some of the qualities why this Lebanese designer has captured the attention of the international fashion market. Her company which is known for making unique bridal gowns has evolved ever since it started back in 1997.

Model on the catwalk

If dressing two of the most powerful women in the world like Madonna and Angelina Jolie isn’t enough, then royals from all over the world will attest to how fine and beautiful her designs are. And as the New Year comes in, the RTW line that the brand started in 2008 will continue to flourish in the closets of tasteful and elegant women all over the world when it comes to picking the clothes that reflect them.

The latest RTW collection is a confession of where this designer came from. See Middle Eastern inspired prints that grace each piece from jumpsuits to dresses. Busy designs as they are, the designer successfully incorporated jovial hues while respecting a woman’s body as they fit well to define a woman’s curves. Embroidery will still be present – as this is the main characteristic of garments found in the region where she was raised.

Belts also dominated the show. The inspiration is simple – it is derived from the people that the designer comes across whenever she pays a visit to flea markets all over the world.

The low and deep V-necks are in line with current trends making waves everywhere. Overall, more than a tribute to Lebanon and its neighboring countries, the collection essentially has a bohemian vibe in a cool and classy way.
